Biography

“Kate’s strength as a teacher comes from her strength in practice first and foremost, continuing to shift and grow with the teachings. “Every day on the mat, and every day in the world, my wish is to develop compassion and peace; healing the body, focusing the mind, and living a radiant life.”

Kate teaches from her home on Gambier Island

Kate literally started practicing before she was 10 years old, and Yoga has become such a thread of practice, never a day goes by without it. Through years of training in Canada, the USA, and India, her influencers have been many. Through years of teaching, her students are world wide and her reputation is vast. The television series Namaste set her on a path of interacting with followers that still to this day want to reap the benefit of her classes. Most are taken with her gentle demeanour and graceful teaching style. As time goes by, she insists that practice is meant to be personal for each student, and for each body type, and yet universal… for we all need care and attention to breath.

When not on her mat, Kate tends to garden work, and lives within a 60 acre land co-op on Gambier Island in Howe Sound. Her partner of many years, Don, loves the land, the water, and the meditative practices that go with living remotely.
